Of all the grand colonial cities in Mexico, Oaxaca is certainly the shining jewel, and a photographer’s dream. We will set out on this journey to experience the vibrant culture of this place, and to capture it in photographs. No ordinary photographs, but exceptional, masterful images, which will portray glimpses of the people, art, history and traditions of this sacred place.
Being in a sacred place, and being treated to luxury service, gourmet foods, and embracing wisdom passed down through the ages is a wonderful journey in itself. Yet this trip offers more. Your tour leader, John Buck, is a contract photographer and art director for Eastman Kodak Company. He has produced 1000s of images for corporate use in both traditional film and digital format. This traveling workshop per se, is designed to allow our small group of travelers to work hands on with John and develop new skills to last a lifetime. To view the world thru a lense, and produce stunning art and displays of color, texture, and light. Become a master of what you see, and express it. May all your journeys in life transform through photography as your own personal art.

YOUR TOUR LEADER: JOHN BUCK: After a long career in marketing and advertising, he decided to create imagery of a more personal nature. John uses photography as the medium to travel, meet people and build bridges across cultural strata. John enjoys the personal exchanges from sharing a captured moment with a photo subject of any age, as the encounter produces brief but simple and honest warmth between the two of them. Since 1993, he has been fortunate to cross this bridge in over 30 countries. He currently resides in Rochester, NY.
