Mt.
Kilimanjaro Charity Climb: A Journey of Inspiration for Hope Lodge'
Hospitality House and
the American Cancer Society: February 13- March 1, 2010: Visualize a
stream of people... whose lives have been affected by liver
disease,
joining from all four directions on the highest point of Mt. Kilimanjaro
at sunrise. They will be here to celebrate the struggles, the
courage of spirit, and the sharing of community. They are here to
spread hope to the world. They cannot make this climb alone, nor
can we live on this planet isolated in our own countries. The
sharing of the climb with the Africans that assist us, the community at
home supporting the climbers, and the climbers themselves step out of
Africa for at least a brief period to demonstrate what is possible in a
world community. A dramatic and highly emotional event such as
this is just one component of this project. Outdoor adventurers
and community groups are another. This project is about world wide
communities, healthy lives, connection, beauty, hope and celebration.

HIGHLIGHT: COLLARING THE ELEPHANTS |

Encounter
The Elephants:
Valid: May 1, 2010 - June 30, 2010: At the confluence of
the Limpopo and Shashe Rivers, there is herd of elephants in
dire need of saving. With the ever increasing human
populations, space for an increasing elephant population in
Southern Africa has steadily decreased. As a byproduct,
elephant habitats have slowly disappeared or have been
permanently damaged, ending the lives of countless elephants
along the way. And still more questions have
arisen on whether an increase in elephant numbers will lead to
the ultimate destruction of a precious wildlife area. On
this rare, once in a lifetime journey from Ker & Downey,
travel to Africa not only in search of wild adventure and famous
game viewing, but in search of meaning...

South Africa, Zambia, Botswana
