During the month of October, to participate with Breast Cancer awareness worldwide, LUX World Travel will donate up to $25 per traveler for vacations that are planned, and have deposits applied, to local organizations such as Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester. 

In addition, for any woman's travel program or private journey planned and booked through the remainder of the 2009 travel season, LUX World Travel will donate up to $100 per traveler to local research in Rochester, or to a local agency in the client's state.

Melinda Johnston, owner, is passionate about woman's issues and breast cancer in particular as her mother was diagnosed 6 years ago, but was treated, had a full recovery, and now lives completely cancer free. 

Ms. Johnston stated, "Everyone knows at least one person whose life was changed due to breast cancer, and getting involved on a personal level is a goal we should all try to embrace. Your mother, sister, best-friend, your favorite aunt...you never know how this disease will effect your life or the ones you love."

Ms. Johnston sees travel as a way to connect with the world, and understands that the world gets smaller every day, "Our problems or solutions can effect change around the world.  And why not use travel as a way to in fact effect positive change for the world we travel in?"  She recognizes that her agency can use proceeds from travel to benefit a greater good. And from this promotes the concept that all of our actions have an impact, and that she can help change the world literally, one vacation at a time.
