Do you wish to climb Mt. Kili?

WHAT IS MY FIRST STEP?

You have taken it.  You have opened up to the possibility that you are intrigued by something you have heard from a friend or you are moved by an inner passion.

Step 2: Call LUX World Travel at 1-866-269-2659 and chat with us about your thoughts, or desired level of participation, or email Melinda Johnston at mj@luxworldtravel.com This may be climbing, volunteering or donating to the cause.

Step 3: If you plan to climb Kilimanjaro…we will help you with your answers and get together with you to develop your plan to climb, fundraise and be part of this community.

Next: Start training, and execute your fundraising plan.

As a real estate agent,  and coach, I met Dara a couple of years ago as she came to my husband and me for advice on investing in real estate.  I immediately knew that Dara was a woman who once she set a goal  - she achieved it and I really admired that about her.  While I was successful in real estate, I struggled with food addiction all of my life, never able to meet that weight loss goal.  While professionally successful, I was inside insecure and powerless over what I ate.   As time went on we became friends and 75 pounds lighter deep into my recovery, my priorities in life are very different.  I know first hand how true determination comes from far more than the individual, it’s a team thing.

After learning of Dara’s transplant, it became even clearer to me the resolve she has to “see the need and meet the challenge.”

A place to call home when there is nothing but sterile environments and strange faces just feeds (pardon the pun) my passion for helping people have that emotional sanctuary that a home provides.

This climb puts the pieces of the puzzle together for me, I think we make a perfect team! Together we will test our a new inner strengths  created by a second chance in life,  and raise money to provide that emotional sanctuary for those when they need it most.  That’s why I choose to climb.
